College Reflection:
Over all this trip was really fun. I was super excited that we were going to be able to do this trip and was pretty happy with the colleges we were going to. I had a lot of fun being at the colleges and think that it was a really good experience.
Some of the differences between chapman and the rest of the colleges I noticed were that the campus was way smaller and had a lot less facilities. I also notice that some of the school had different class sizes or ways that the classes were taught.
I think that this experience of actually going to a college and spending time on campus talking with students was good exposure to something that can give me a better understanding of what I want to go to college for. I think that it also helped me realize just how close I really am to going to college and that I should start preparing. For a long time I have wanted to go to a college out of state to see something new. I think this was a good experience that helped me clarify that that is what I want. I think that being able to be in a different city will give variation to my life and will show me what I really like because if I spend all my time in one place I may miss out on something that I might enjoy better. One thing that I am very excited for in college is the opportunity to be responsible for taking care of myself. I feel that my parents have been pushing to help me know how to take care of myself and make have been making sure that I will be just fine when I move out.
Personally I am really looking forward to the independence of college. I think that this will be a molding point in my life that will have lots of ups and downs but will help me become a responsible person.
I am most concerned about the financial part of going to college. If I want to go to college I will need some kind of scholarship to be able to afford it without going into debt. Debt is one thing that I really want to avoid at all costs.
Another thing that i'm excited for is having the opportunity to study abroad. I think that this would be a very fun experience that would really let me see different parts of the world and be exposed to different cultures.
As far as clubs or organizations go I may be interested in some of them but I don't think I will know until I can really try them out to see what they are like. I also heard from a few of our tour guides that some or those clubs or organizations helped them find a job or something along those lines so that they would be financially stable right out of college.
I am trying to find a college that has a lot of interactive lessons and more hands on work. I also want something that's in a city and maybe even a open campus that is spread out through a city. I would to go to a college that has smaller classes but isnt a small overall.
I would really like to go out of state for college just to experience something new and to be able to travel a bit more. I think that as I get older if I looked back I would be a lot more happy if I did go out of state. I'm hoping that when I do graduate I will have somewhere that I am confident I will be happy with and that I will be able to afford the college of my choice.
