People say that having self esteem is good for you, but there is a limit to having too much self esteem. Having too much self esteem can start to cause other personality traits like cockiness and stubbornness. It can lead to having a big ego and how people look at oneself. It can even affect people's improvement and how well people can compromise with others.
Getting critique from others is a crucial part of making your work the best it can be. People that get critique and use it to their advantage, improve and thrive. Not taking critique because of your stubbornness can affect people in many ways. It can hold people back from improvement, for example in sports when they tell someone to work on something and they refuse to take their critique and then they can’t improve because their not taking helpful critique from others. They can’t exceed because they are always on the same level due to thinking that they are already good enough but really they aren't and they can’t exceed in any way or form. They can’t surpass others because they can’t improve and if they can’t improve then they can’t get better at something and if they can’t get better at something then they are at the same level all the time and can’t surpass others.
Stubbornness and being Inflexible can be a result from being arrogant. One major problem when people are cocky is they always think they're right and then being or thinking cocky turns into stubbornness. When others are being stubborn it can affect them in multiple ways, like not being able to compromise with others. Compromising with others is very important when working a group and trying to come to an agreement. They become difficult to work with especially when doing a group project. For example when everybody wants to do something and decide as a group and he/she wants a different idea than everyone else and constantly disagree, because they think their idea is right; and they become very difficult to work with ,and those people can often be avoided because of the difficulties of working with them. It can affect them by not being able to change themselves they become trapped in being so stubborn that they can not change not being stubborn. Then being stubborn can affect you in the future very much.
Being cocky can affect how people view you.Especially how other people look at people that are cocky. When you're cocky him/her friends can look at you differently; they can look at you as a person that thinks he/she is the best but really they're not. They can start to think that he/she is getting annoying because he/she is being extremely cocky. People can look at you as a person that is full of themselves. People can avoid him/her because how cocky they are and can ignore people like that. It really affects them because they're creating a bad image for himself, all just by being cocky.
In conclusion, people should have self esteem but not to the extent of turning self esteem to cockiness. Being cocky can affect people in so many ways like how they improve and when working in a group and trying to compromise. Cockiness and being stubborn can lead to creating a bad image for oneself. Having self esteem is a great thing to have but sometimes having too self esteem can lead to other things. Self esteem can transform into boastfulness or lead to egoistic acts.Be modest not egoistic, be unconceited not conceited and most of all have self esteem but remember not too much.
