New York Times Jan 25, 2018 "Billions of Plastic Pieces Litter Coral in Asia and Australia" by Vero Nique Greenwood The article is about how litter like plastic is spreading over the seas. Specifically in the coral in Asia and Australia. It talks about how there is billions of pieces of plastic in the ocean and how its affecting the environment underwater in a big way. What is happening is that countries that have a very poor plan to handle pollution have a higher chance to have lots of bacteria in there coral reefs. When plastic bottle caps get into the ocean which has lots of bacteria can infects the corals in these countries. hey estimate that reefs across the Asia-Pacific region are littered with more than 11 billion pieces of plastic. They also estimate that it would go up in the incoming years. Do you realize how much plastic that is its enough to reach around earth 14 times. This is becoming a problem along with global warming and pollution and these ocean plastic problems should be on that list as well. I think that this is becoming or already is such a big problem because lots of people don't know what is happening and how plastic is affecting the oceans drastically. At this rate the ocean would be filled with plastic and this doesn't just send bacteria into the ocean what happens is that bacteria and cause infections and diseases and can kill mass populations of sea animals. Overall this is a very big and ongoing problem that we seek a solution to in the future. I will comment on Micah Hacker and Jeremy Ongs Blog Post.
